A new feature of AN is the Aviary.


It will soon have it's own in character board and everything. What does the Aviary do, you ask?


GREAT QUESTION!


On other roleplay boards, mostly modern spoiled-teen-brat ones, there are boards listing character phone numbers, e-mails, and other things. Using that board, you can communicate with members via those mediums.

WELL. Welcome to the medieval era. We use birds.

There will be a list of everyone's carrier bird listed in the upcoming Aviary board, and you can use the board to sort of pass notes with each other's birds. Here is an example of how it will work.

The Aviary stood on the corner of Central Street and Jolly Bird Street - not a very great place to be. Mallory could see that at one point in time, this might've been the hip place to be, but now it was just a slummy haven for dirt.

The brunette swept her hair behind her shoulders and stepped into the Aviary. Inside was an old, barely-sentient man who gave her a look of acknowledgement, and the key to her carrier's cage. Mallory had a very simple carrier bird - it was a fat brown dove missing a few tail feathers. She came here today knowing that she had to reach someone important.

Aleth.

She walked up the stairs to the cage room, where there were rows upon rows of cages with squawking birds of all kinds. Hers was at the end of the row, twitching like it held some sort of disease. With a sigh, she took a piece of paper from the desk by the open window and wrote a note.

Aleth, there's a book hidden for you at the end of Crowri Street in the abandoned Tenement. Look in the yard, in the cinder blocks.

She then tied it to her bird and flipped through the Avian Listings, showing it a picture of Aleth. The dove, trained and ready to go, took off out of the window in search.

There was a gargled coo coming from outside, breaking Aleth's light slumber at Vita Manor. The only dove who gargled was Mallory's dove. He at once got up and opened the window to recieve a note.

He was quick to write a response.

The diary? I'll be quick to get it on my way out in a few hours. Capella will never know. I will send my crow to you when I have written and hidden it for you. It could be a few days before I find anything else out about this secret plot, though. Keep safe, love.

And it would go on so forth in that manner, passing notes back and forth, essentially.



So, there must be a listing of everyone's birds. Post here and I will take that information and compile a list. I don't need anything specific except a type of bird and a very brief description.

PLEASE nothing that would not normally be seen. No exotic african birds or raptors or anything like that. Just small carrier birds that can in some way be told apart from others. Pet birds like parrots and stuff is acceptable, because keeping birds as pets is common! But please, no fantasy creatures, no really outrageous uncommon birds, and keep them small. The only big birds allowed (geese, swans, etc.) are for Clan Holders to send out large numbers of messages in one outing. Like, invites.
