In at the deep end

[Winter]

The moon shone brightly in the night sky illumintating the mountainous terrain below, It's surface covered in the soft white snow that looked untouched by any form of life, The barren snowy landscape opening up onto a large flattened area high on the edge of a sheer wall of ice and snow,

Winter beat her wing's hard against her direction stopping herself in mid air before tucking them at her back allowing herself to fall briefly before outstretching her wing's acting as an air-brake just before she landed on all four's in the cold snow her wing's still outstretched camouflaged against the white snow as she looked around breifly before finding her feet and walking to the edge of the cliff crossing her arm's over her chest as she looked down on the landscape below, her icy blue eye's fixing on a town iluminated in the darkness by it's torches...

Winter stood quietly letting the cold breeze brush around her features as she fixed her eye's on the town in an icy stare thinking to herself before slowly closing her eye's and stepping off the cliff-edge taking to the air once more,
She flew for a while untill the noise and light's got closer, she watched as she passed silently overhead watching and listening to the noises of the fairground below, human's all alike mingling and associating with eachother and seemingly having fun... Winter would have passed it all by if her stomach didn't growl as she smelt the food cooking on open fires and she stopped dropping down into the shadow's tucking her wing's behind her as she watched and wondered just how much of a good idea wandering into the crowd and buying food would be...

[Arianna]

Geez it was cold. It was mid spring by now, the weather should have been warming up! But nooooo of course not. Between the freezing winds, rains and freak snow storms, Arianna was beginning to wonder if alatus would ever really see spring.

The young blacksmith walked through the deserted streets of the festival grounds, her arms laden with several orders she had to work on, as well as some groceries she had picked up in the market place. Ugh, it was going to be a busy night.

Arianna went to turn a corner, but ended up bumping head on into something, which at first she thought was a wall. She fell to the ground, landing bottom first on the cold stones, her basket of groceries and various scraps of metal clattering to the ground around her. She winced, but no sound escaped her lips, even as they parted to let out a groan of discomfort.
