Hey there everyone!
This is basically my introduction to the new way plots will work. At least site-wide plots. Any plots that you yourself want to run, well, those are up to you and you can do it how you want. Though, feel free to use this method! I think it'll work out really swell.
On this board, I'll post information on, you guessed it, site-wide plots. I'll give a little background information, some motivation for characters to get in on it (if you yourself are having trouble giving your character an in-character reason for getting on-board), a basic setting, etc. And then I'll ask if anyone wants to sign up. Sometimes there'll be a specific number of slots available, and sometimes there won't, but the only way you can participate in a site-wide plot is if you sign up for it, first.
The reason for this is because I want to make sure that you and your character(s) are committed to it. Don't sign up for it if you think you won't have the time to keep up, or will fall through. It only takes one person to hold up and ruin the flow of a thread, after all.
So, if you sign up for a plot, you are expected to make regular posts when it's your turn to. So, the only rule to this whole shebang is don't sign up for one if you don't plan on being active for it. That's all I ask.
I also think this will be a good idea, simply because it'll give us a little bit of steam to go on. We'll have a basic outline of things so the dreadful "arrrrgh I don't know what to do!" will be less likely to happen, and we won't be thrown off course by an unexpected person jumping in.
If you want to utilize this board, all you have to do is post a thread containing the gist of your own lil' sub-plot, and ask people to sign up a character!
Hopefully, this will make managing current events a LOT easier.
An additional note:
Usually, a site-wide plot will be broken into smaller portions at the same time. So our first one will likely be three plots, or 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3. After these are completed and we move on to the next one, it'll be similar, as in 2.1 and 2.2. Please only sign up for one portion of a plot.
