The second course.

Natalia was hungry, and that soup smelled great. Yes, it smelled great, but the taste put the smell to shame. It was absolutly fabulous, easily one of the best things she'd ever tasted (second to her strawberries of course). She started to practically inhale the soup, but once she realized what she was doing she slowed done a bit. It was bad for peoples' stomachs to eat so fast.

Then something interesting happened. Someone started to talk to Capella about the town. Natalia was very curious about that subject, but was still too freaked out to actually talk to her. Fortunatly, she got the information she needed from that little conversation. The reason Capella hadn't really done anything yet was because she didn't know what to do? Perfectly understand able, this was a big problem to tackle. It was also easy enough to fix if she got some ideas. Natalia wasn't much of a leader, but when it came to solving problems she wasn't half bad. However, she still didn't want to approach her. She would just wait for the right time to blurt something out.

Plus, right now she had something else to deal with. That one fairy decided to sit on her shoulder again. Why did that fairy enjoy her shoulders so much? Natalia just shook her head when that fairy showed up. She honestly wasn't in the mood to deal with this.

"That sounds nefairyous," she whispered. Sadly, even her whisper was pretty loud, so a lot of people probably heard her. "Just leave me out of it. And will you get off my shoulder? You can't possibly be cold here."

The large amount of people made her somewhat irritable.

[Capella]

Capella was very delighted to have a distraction from Kaihn, Sion, and Lyra, and was even more delighted to see that that distraction was the ever-so-talented Sophie. She couldn't help but smooth out her dress and grin, her cheeks rouging up immensely.

"You've got some magical hands, Sophie. I never could have dreamed up anything this beautiful! I'm lucky I get to wear it! It should be you donning this, not me. You deserve it!"

She did a little half twirl to show the train and how well the fabric twirled. It was easily the heaviest garment that Capella had worn, and without ample feeding, she wasn't in the greatest condition to be wearing it for great lengths of time, but damned she would be if she didn't do it for Sophie. She was sure that she'd love to see her creation being worn.

"I'll have to give you much, much more than what we settled on. You've done a fantastic job. Everyone here looks so great!"

She sighed, happy that with the exception of Kaihn and his strange little self causing a scene, things were going relatively well. She took a stray bang and started to twirl it around her index finger, the sensation of her fangs yearning to bite into flesh almost like a hunger pain.

"As far as how I'm doing, I'm doing decently. Yourself?"

Ratci dons a rather dark pout, a storm brewing in her eyes. "Unfortunately I'm not sure I'll be quite so able to leave you out of it now," she spat, and fluttered away rather huffily, in search of someone else's shoulder.

Her gaze lit upon the demon Kaihn, and sensing chaotic blood like her own, she flew over to him, and up a little as she'd been sitting upon the shoulder of someone who was sitting down. "Hello," she says brightly in his ear. He was probably quite sick of tiny apparitions speaking to him, but Ratci didn't much care. If she didn't receive enough attention, she would probably leave and just spend time with her numerous spiders. "Who's your little friend?" pun intended.

[Sophie]

"Oh, no no no, Lady, it was no problem at all." Sophie lied. She looked at her fingers and noticed the blisters and pinpricks. They hurt very bad, but she was getting very well paid for all of this, so it was worth it. She smiled, content, and jammed her hands into pockets buried deep in the ruffles of her dress.

"And I'm just dandy, thanks. I'm actually looking for someone. You might have seen him, he's about this tall," She motioned her hand above her, "He has brown hair, green eyes?" She shrugged. "Just need to speak with him..." She was supposed to be helping him keep watch around the ball. But she couldn't seem to locate him anywhere.

He usually made himself known. She thought she'd spot him right away, but alas. Sighing, she let her shoulders drop, but when realizing that she was in front of rather important people, perked up again and smiled again. "By the way, the soup looks absolutely heavenly. I shall certainly try some," She said.

Kaihn noticed the small fairy land on his shoulder and he laughed a little. "Hello, am I magnet for the smaller creatures in the world" He said to himself as he heard her comment about Sion. "Errr, that pest is Sion and he can be a real pain. He should be asleep right now" He said looking at the small fairy on his shoulder. "Would you like me to get you somthing to eat, seeing as Im within grabbing range of the table?" He asked the small fairy looking at her as he thought what to do about Sion. He thought what to do about his minute....companion would be the wrong word but he was a small thing. "So I am guessing your a fairy judging by the wings and the size." He smiled, he all ways liked fairies but more as a snack than company but seeing as his fairy eating days where gone he would just enjoy the company. He smiled for a moment waiting for the response with the offer of food.

Ratci nods vigorously, pointing down at a bowl of steaming hot soup. "Could you just grab me a bit of chicken, then?" she asks happily, her feet swaying to and fro, wings fluttering idly as a dog might wag his tail.

She looks up and straight to the left so that she might examine his face, smiling widely at his openness. Then her eyes turn back to Sion and the apparition by Lady Capella, tilting her head, she comments, "He seems nice to me. But I of all people should know people can be both nice and a pain!!" And she titters a bit, coiling up completely and covering her mouth with little fairy joy.

Kaihn took a small piece of chicken and passed it up to the small fairy who had decided to take residence upon his shoulder. "Urrr, he is actually very very moody, he will probably get cranky soon because he hasn't had his nap" Kaihn looked at the dancing Sion and then muttered somthing. "Nuku Proaki sec sa si Sion" soon the small apparition of Kaihn dissappeared and reappeared on his other shoulder. "Le crak teba nepocapa" and in a flash Sion had left. "Sorry for being so rude my fey companion but I just told him to go away in our native tongue" He smiled and decided to take his leave of the crowed. He nodded to capella and the others around him and then moved to a small doorway and smiled. Taking a sip from his glass he thought for a moment. "So what brings you here" Kaihn asked resorting to the usual drab ice breaker as he snatched a piece of bread from a passing waiter and started to chew on it.

Ratci snatches the piece of chicken offered to her quite angrily, glaring up at Kaihn. "Fey are quite different than fairies. They're all dumb sissies who prance around with pretty dresses. And their ears are twice as long; it looks ridiculous!"

She chomps the piece of chicken and chews vigorously, holding it by either side like it was a sandwich.

[Capella]

There was quite a bit of interaction going on by now, some good and some bad, but Capella realized that this was the time, now that people were gathered, to make her announcement. It was now or never, and never was never good. Sighing, she held up her flute and tinked the stem with a tiny fork.

Ting ting ting!

Then, she cleared her throat. She knew that there would be heavy stares on her, so she was prepared. All of the bad things that she had done in the past, she put them behind her for this moment. Because the tides of change were coming. Capella was a new woman in this era. She was a better woman. All of her killings, all of her pointless murders... while they were still unforgiven, she would put those acts far behind her. She wasn't like that anymore.

But still, her thirst for blood pained her.

"Good evening everyone. I'm ready to make my announcement." She smiled daintily and put her flute on the banquet table, smoothing out the front of her dress. "Some of you may not have heard, but the House of Vita is home to a clan. Some would expect this clan to have goals that go against the welfare of the people of Exodus Town, and Alatus Nox in general, but I assure you, I have good intentions as the head of this clan.

"I plan to bring this town back from the dead slump that it's in! No more of this eternal night - the curse must be lifted! That is the House of Vita's goal! To bring the sunlight back into this town! I don't care that it is the bane of what I am - for centuries and millenia far beyond the records of history, the kin of darkness and Chaos have found ways to coincide with the cycle of night and day, so there's no reason why it can't be done again!"

Pausing mostly for dramatic effect, Capella took a sip of what was in her champagne flute and quickly surveyed the mood of the ballroom.

"So, if anyone is interested in helping this cause, please, the House of Vita welcomes you!"

Kaihn heard Ratci speak but soon Capella would make her speech. "mmmm removing a curse lasting this long would be hard" He mumbles as he thought back to what Ratci was saying. "You call fey sissies I see" He said smiling. "Well, I shall be sure not to annoy any fairies in that case. Im sure you have somthing up your sleeve" He said smiling as he took another sip of his drink. "Well then my dear, what brings a denizine of Mischeif here?" He asked smiling and he thought about the curse and if there was anything he wanted to do to help.

Bring the sun back? Yes, that did seem like a logical first step, but it was a rather large one. Natalia thought that it might be a little better to try to fix some of the other problems first, or at least make them less problematic. Of course, Capella was probably right in going straight for the root of the problem; chances were nothing would be fixed until the sun came back.

However, that wasn't the first thing that came to her mind. Natalia was born in Nox, so she had never actually seen the sun in her life. She definatly wanted to know what it looked like, and she cared about that more than solving the problems of the town. For the most part she was fine. Breaking into her house was downright suicidal, and she could run like hell if she needed to. But to actually see something she had never seen before, that was worth fighting for...As long as it wouldn't kill her.

Capella definatly had Natalia's support, though she was still afraid to announce that. However, now was not the time to be a coward...Or maybe it was. She was definatly not a people person, and simply sitting in large crowds gave her butterflies. But, she wanted to help. So, this was not the time to be a coward, even though she wanted to be one.

Before she could change her mind and/or chicken out she quickly stood up and knocked over her chair again. "I would like to help you Capella!" while she was a quiet person, her voice was not. It was even louder than usual because of her nerves. "While my expertise is with the human body I have researched magic extensively. If you need me to do anything just ask."

Once she was done speaking she picked up her chair (again) and sat down. Well, that was a lot easier than she thought it would be, even if she did throw up in her mouth a little. Natalia starting thinking about how to go about breaking this curse thing, but she knew nothing about the curse that was causing it. Figuring out just what the curse was would likely be the first step in bringing the sun back.

Capella stood before the attendees and pronounced her grand plan for the revival of the town. And what a grand plan it was. Perhaps this was why she was fidgety when Robert mentioned the town and its night. A curse, huh? Most intriguing. She stood tall as she notified the people of her intentions. Her tone of voice and posture painted the picture of a vampire who had been planning this for a long time. And was very adamant about it.

On another, similar note, it seemed as if Capella's plans for Alatus Nox and Cassus' were beginning to merge, even if the details differed. It seemed this was a most worthy cause in which Robert could lend a hand. In his infinite generosity, and curiosity towards the many interesting adventures this bold attempt would entail, he spoke.

"You can sign me up," Robert shouted. "I may be human, but I'm pretty sharp. As is my companion here, who is also willing to lend a hand." Charles growled softly and glared up at him.

"Pardon me," Robert corrected himself. "Paw."

Charles wagged his tail and barked at Capella. Charles liked her. She wasn't as...hungry...as Terenas was.

[Finny]

Finny listened in awe to Capella's plan. The sun, eh? She hadn't seen the sun in years! It would be great to have it back. "I'd like to help!" Finny announced, raising her hand and jumping up, plastering a giant grin on her face. "That sounds fun!" ... But only if Aleth would be doing it, too.

Which he probably was, so Finny was definitely in.
