Personality: This man is aloof, and to people and causes he is unfamiliar with, he is utterly uncaring. He’s exhausted to the point where human life is of little value to him. On most days, he would love nothing better than to be alone meditating or mumbling to himself. He’s stuck in a very vicious grieving process, and is rarely motivated to do much of anything because of it.
Sexuality: Heterosexual.
Strengths: As he used to teach the arts, Lanz is extremely adept with Necromancy and Illusionism. His apathy has made him immune to most fearful things.
Weaknesses: He just doesn’t care about anything. He doesn’t want to use his abilities, he doesn’t want to help anyone, etcetera. That, and because of his skill in necromancy, his actual body has started to decay. At one point it was halted by “divine intervention”, but the goddess has since perished, and the process has begun once more. If Lanz does not keep up the illusionism, his true zombie-like image will be visible to all. Since he must keep the spell active at all times, he often feels worn out and tired. So, his abilities are often comprimised due to these things.
Abilities
Active: Illusionism – his ‘false image’ that everyone is familiar with.
Passive: Illusionism – spells involving any other type of illusionism. Conjuring skeletons. The more fleshed out they are, the more advanced the spell. Bones don’t take much, but musculature, skin, etcetera will take him time. He is also able to create hybrid creatures from the miscellaneous bones beneath his feet.
Weapons: A knife to keep away pickpockets, and his staff. But out of respect, he would never use his staff for physical combat.
Animal Form: n/a
History: Lanz is the oldest of his siblings, and for a time, was king of a country called Aiyaka. His sister, jealous of his power, discovered that he had taken an interest in dark arts and revealed it to the people, who had him exiled, and crowned her instead. The littlest sibling, a sister and Lanz’s favorite of his kin, followed him. Unfortunately, she caught up to him as he was being heckled by outlaws, and they took her life. Crushed, Lanz decided to turn his interests to necromancy in hopes of one day reanimating her.
As his skills grew, he realized that doing so would be a disrespect to her, and decided to lay his memories to rest. So, he took a job as a teacher and a project manager for a group of daemonologists on the arctic island of Byrde’s Peake. Little did he know that it was all a plot to summon a dark lord. A woman then summoned him, a minor tribal goddess who claimed to be his sister, and begged for Lanz’s help. They fell in love, and she helped restore his former body, as it had begun to decay.
The battle was large and involved many people whom Lanz befriended and had to watch die. One of them was the goddess, and since then, he has carried around a piece of her tiger pelt so that he might always remember her. A friend of the goddess’s told him that he had a daughter, who had to be hidden because of the battle. She had grown older and vanished, and now Lanz searches for her.
